David Willardson

After graduating from Los Angeles Art Center, David entered the world of entertainment art. His passion for excellence and his natural creativity opened doors which allowed him to create internationally known images such as the "Raiders of the Los Ark" movie logo and the classic "American Graffiti" car hop.

Willardson was commissioned to paint the major movie posters for Disney Animation over a period of fifteen years. A small sample includes Bambi, Cinderella, Snow White, Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and The Lion King.

While painting these well-loved characters in the traditional way, Willardson developed an energetic and colourful graphic painting style that not only captures the personality and emotions of the characters but the attention of art collectors around the world!

(David Willardson was a close friend of John Lennon). Willardson asked his recording artist friend Michelle Shocked to complete the Calligraphy on the Lennon painting specially for Gallery Owner, Emil Simon.
