Ken Danby's At the Counter & Morning Paper
At the Counter
Featured together in Paul Duval's "Ken Danby: The New Decade", Danby's works "At the Counter" and "Morning Paper" are prime examples of his expertise in watercolor. In 1989, "At the Counter" sold for a record price for a Danby watercolor at auction in Toronto.
Among the top Canadian artists, Ken Danby has won numerous awards for his
watercolor paintings, including the 125th Anniversary Commemorative Medal of Canada, and both the Queen's Silver and Golden Jubilee Medals. After many years in the art world, Danby
tragically died while canoeing in Algonquin Park on Sept. 23, 2007 at 67 years of age.
